" Others, like jeweler Gallen Benson's elegant "Sacred Hand",
use recognizable forms toward spiritual ends. His piece places a
heart of pipestone in a sterling siver hand, cast from his own.
Contained within the heart are four smaller hands that turn like the
spokes on a wheel and symbolize the four directions. Each hand is
set with a different stone, representing the four colors of people and
their interconnectedness emerging from the hand of the Creator."
