The inspiration for this piece came from a series of personal experiences I had while staying in Florence, Italy.  It is a very special place where heaven speaks to artists.

The red color in this piece is the fire, or active ingredient of creativity, and also is the heart energy flowing through the intention within the piece.

There is a balance in this piece as a whole, in its counterparts, and in the giglio itself. (pronounced “geel-yo”, meaning lily. The giglio was the symbol of Florence during the Renaissance.  This symbol was later adopted by the French and is more commonly referred to as the fleur-de-lis.)  This giglio image has roots growing downwards, and living stems blossoming up and outwards.  A reference to heaven and earth.  The central sun image found on the clasp is an entry point into the piece, or into physical creation, and also an exit portal returning to emptiness.

The Red Creation Necklace represents creation.  It is the event of creation as well as a sequence of creation, resulting in the Florentine giglio’s presence on earth.  The image lives, grows, and flourishes.
